Dog harness for labradoodles
When we got our first Australian Labradoodle I made leather bags. I wanted a cool leather harness for him, but it was nowhere to be found. The frustration was now very high after having tested several harnesses and I decided at that moment that I would make a leather dog harness myself. After all, I already made leather bags, so a leather harness should not be that difficult. That turned out to be something different because making a leather harness is not that easy, but in the end I designed and made the perfect leather dog harnesses for doodles, among other things.
The dog harnesses I make are really perfect for labradoodles, because these dogs get tangles around the harness very quickly. You want the harness he or she wears to help reduce this and also look nice.
Not just any leather dog harness
These leather dog harnesses are not just made of leather. I always make sure that they are very supple, which does not mean that they are not sturdy. Imagine putting a stiff leather harness on your doodle, then you will notice that just like with the leather harness that you are using now, the tangles around the harness are still there. That is because you need a supple leather harness for dogs with long hair. This supple leather fits completely to the body of the dog and it is a natural material. This combination ensures that the tangles are reduced.
The leather dog harnesses are made of supple leather, but certainly also sturdy. I always sew the leather double. This means that the harness remains supple, but is somewhat stronger due to the double layers. And I also always ensure that there is reinforcement in the harness and the line so that the leather cannot stretch.
A perfectly fitting leather harness is just as important
To reduce tangles in your doodle, it is also very important to make sure that the harness he or she is wearing fits perfectly. The harness should not slide around on the back, ride up when you put on the leash, or sit too close to the armpits. These are all signs that you have put the wrong harness on your dog.
I have designed a standard collection of 4 sizes, of course I have taken into account that every dog must have room in the armpits to be able to move well, there must be sufficient adjustability between the front legs and with the average belly and neck size. If your dog does not fit in these standard sizes or you want a different color than I have in the standard collection, then you can go for the custom harness.
